Reuven Scharf was born in Czechoslovakia in 1938. In 1950 while he was 12 years old he came to Israel with "youth aliyah" and was brought up in Kibbutz Hulda in which he is still a member untill this day.

In 1965 Reauven started his artistic relationship with sculpturing and between 1972-1976 he studied art in the Avni school of art in Tel- Aviv. Meanwhile Reauven's statues started acquiring him a name within the artistic community and in 1979 he went to "Petra Santra," Italy. where he spent 8 months studying sculpting with marble.

Ever since Reauven embarked on his creative journey he has continually created art from various stones, marble, bronze, aluminum, and other metals. 
Reauven's studio is located in Kibbutz Hulda on a vast yard where he displays in a permanent gallery; he has opened a studio on the premises where he teaches stone sculpturing.

Reauven's sculptors have been purchased by many private collectors; his work is displayed worldwide and all over Israel.
